Before Eli went to bed he was busy making things and posting signs all around the house. Apparently we are having a race first thing in the morning when we wake up. He said "you will have to try hard to wake up fast mum because after you have had your breakfast and your tea is when the race is starting, if you take longer than that the race will be finished and you will lose". I'm ok with losing! Here are his signs. I love his writing and that he is sounding words out to write them.

A walk in the woods with Sir Eli the Knight

Last night we had a dusting of snow and it was almost gone by 10am much to Eli's disappointment. He is desperate for there to be enough snow to go sledding. Anyway David suggested a walk along the trail right by our house to try and appease him. It's such a lovely little walk through the woods and then down onto a boardwalk across the marsh. The path starts 2 houses down from us - it's so ridiculously close to our house but we have probably only walked it less than 10 times maybe in the 4 years that we have lived here yet whenever we do we say we should do this more often!  Oh, and Eli went as a knight! Imogen onl walked for about 10 minutes and then got in the stroller and went to sleep! Poor thing still feels rough.

Here are some random photos from the last few weeks of the every day things that happen at our house!

My little munchkin doesn't eat anything at the moment. This is her breakfast (daily- no matter what I give her she does it) Dumped out and spread around the tray. Grrr! It will pass I know! I want to remember these phases when they are older!

Cold day in Parksville

Working for us right now - each day they get one toy out each to bring upstairs for the day. We change it every day. I have never seen them play for so long and so involved. Before this they didn't play with any of their toys very much.

Eli doing his online math lesson on the computer. I want to remember this incase it doesn't last! He begs to do math all the time. If he had a choice of anything at all to do  he chooses math. Not sure where he got that from it definitely isn't me!

It got super sunny one day so we went straight to the park after picking Eli up from school.

Happy Birthday Archin

A couple weeks ago Eli decided it was Archins birthday. I was just about to make dinner and he decided we had to have cakes immediately! So I gave him the ingredients and he literally made the cupcakes all by himself, including decorating them! After dinner we had a party for Archin. Complete with dancing and games! Eli organized everything himself. It was so sweet. 

Archin was 5. The cake with the cup was for Eli who told me he was the guest of honour!

Frozen yoghurt

Imogen isn't well and fell asleep today in her stroller while we were out - something she doesn't do anymore. Eli and I took advantage of the quiet and went and got frozen yoghurt with all our favorite toppings. It was nice to sit and chat together without having to get up and down and stop the 2 year old from destroying the place/running away etc etc!!

Eli was playing with flour and I forgot I usually only let him do it while Imogen is napping! She got it everywhere - this was just the start!
