Wasaga Beach

We did a day trip today to Wasaga Beach which is a small beach town north of us on the southern tip of the Georgian Bay. It is apparently the longest freshwater beach in the world. Unfortunately it wasn't the warmest day (especially considering the temperatures that we had earlier in the week) but we still had fun. I miss my beaches on the Island so very much and I was determined that nothing would ruin our day back at the beach! Eli had been excited about jumping the waves as that was one of their favourite things to do at Rathtrevor so I had explained to him about how it was a lake not the Ocean and that there wouldn't be any but lucky for us it was windy and there were waves a plenty!

One of these days I will take the camera instead of just having my phone!

Lunch in Wasaga while waiting for the rain to stop!

Playground at the beach!

Just a little windy on the beach!

And earlier in the week...making a lego 'awesome man"

Off to the park to play soccer with daddy

Farm visits, strawberry picking and swimming lessons!

We've been to the splash pad by our house many, many times this past two weeks since it's been so hot. This day it wasn't quite as warm and they rode their bikes/scooters thru the sprinklers since no-one else was there. Somehow this was so much more fun than just running through it!

This photo was on my phone and I couldn't resist...can't wait to meet the owner of these beautiful toes in October! (Baby girl Lam just incase there is any confusion that I haven't told you all something?!)

Fun day at Brooks farms with friends

Also found on my phone...another 40ish photos of Immys face....

and a random shot of 'tiger' (very clear photo Immy, well done!)

Still waking up one morning and playing games on the couch!

David was stuck in Calgary on the day when the flooding got really bad. I was worried he wouldn't make it back to the airport so I put on the news in the morning to watch what was going on. Would you believe that the kids have never ever seen the news on TV before! I generally don't watch it as a rule. One because it depresses me and two because I don't think most news stories are anything a child needs to be exposed to. However I made an exception for this and the two of them couldn't be torn away from the TV. They have been playing 'news' ever since! After breakfast Eli was straight up to his room to go and get dressed like a news reporter!! I love the contrasting pattern of shirt/shorts!

And it so happened to co-incide with the last day of school work for us for our summer break! Here he is still in his reporter gear finishing the last bits of work from Grade 1!

Not to be left out here's Immy colouring on our last day of school!

Another random photo on my phone from Helen that I had to include for when I look back at the blog in years to come as it made me laugh for days.  Zachs preschool graduation picture with caption written by his ESL teacher lol!!!

Photos below of strawberry picking...this is the temp when we were there. We barely lasted half an hour it was way too hot. Check out the 'feels like' part.

Eli picking below. He won't eat strawberries raw but took the whole thing very seriously as he wanted to make jam! Which we did as soon as we got home and it was delicious!

The kids are taking swimming lessons in a outdoor pool. Eli's favourite part is waiting on the hammock while Immy has her turn!

And lastly playing an in indoor play place this week to escape the heat!

Last week

At Forest Garden the last two weeks they have been observing the tadpoles.

Last weekend David played his first soccer game with East gwillimbury! So excited that he is doing something fun instead of working all the time!

My big goof ball watching soccer

And the littlest one! She found a pink ball and decided it was hers as it was pink and boys don't want to play with a pink soccer ball!

Now that the weather is nicer we have been going to the splash pad next to our house almost every night.

Immy and Caitlin at Forest garden...they look so cute...

Some of the boys making a chain!

The little ones copying!

Roasting marshmallows. Love the hand on the hip!

The boys made a tree collage

Eli and Caleb. Would you believe they are both 6!

On Friday we went to a farm with our homeschool group. I loved this guy!

Wagon Ride

They got to plant some seeds and bring them home

On the way home Immy had fun with my camera! I have about 4 times the amount shown here of pics of her. She was doing different faces...some of them (that are not in this pic) are hilarious!

It's very rare she looks this clean and tidy so I had to get a photo!

This is how she sleeps!! She loves her stuffies!
