Skating Party

Eli's school Christmas party was a skating party. Imogen and I got to go too. Imogen hated it! Although she enjoyed standing on the edge of the cone and me pulling her across the ice.

Cousin Fun

Eli was doing some school work so Zach sat with him and did some too!

She was saying "no photo right now"

Painting Christmas ornaments

Making Playdough

Playing "save-ums" shouting "Small is powerful"

Playing with toys

This video is not the most interesting but I just love how involved she was playing with Eli's toys while he was busy on the computer. Before I picked up the camera she was making all kids of sound effects but of course she only did it once after I turned the camera on! If you listen carefully when the guy falls off she says "Sorry guy - it's ok"!

Sibling Love

A few cute things from today. Imogen came up to me out of the blue and said "I like Eli mummy" I said "I like Eli too" and she said "He big brother" awwwww.

At lunch sometimes Imogen gets waaay out of control crying if she doesn't get her food INSTANTLY when she sees me making it. Today I made grilled cheese so she had to wait for it to cool down and was flipping out big time, I mean screeeeeeeeeeaming the house down. Usually this sends Eli over the edge as he hates the noise and he runs screaming to his bedroom (don't you all wish you were here for lunch with us more often?!) anyway instead of flipping out today he went and gave her a hug and stroked her face with a [clean] paintbrush and was saying "Eli's here, calm down" she stopped crying and they had a little hug-fest until lunch had cooled down. A few hours later she saw the same paintbrush, picked it up and stroked her face and was saying "awwh Eli". Love love love.

Lastly, during nap time - which is almost non-existent as she fights naps almost every day now- she spent about half an hour shouting "mummy come here - get up now" (on repeat for half an hour I should add!) after such a long time, she obviously realised that she wasn't getting anywhere with me so she started shouting "Yi-yi (Eli) I all done sleeping, get me out". Knows her big bro is a soft touch!

Not a very clear picture but here they are - Eli is reading his lego magazine to Imogen, describing it in great detail and she's going "Oh yes Eli"!

Such a monkey

Yesterday at Eli's skating lesson. Keep in mind It is freezing in there as we sit right by the ice (actually who am I kidding there is not much sitting involved when I watch with Imogen!) Imogen decides she isn't going to wear socks or shoes and she was in such a cheeky mood that I literally could not catch her to put them on. Her feet were bright red they were so cold. I will add the video of the look she was giving me later when I can get to the computer!!

Where's the paper?

She still prefers painting on herself!

Iron man

We were playing a question/answer game earlier and the question was "if you could be any super hero which one would you be and why?" Eli's answer was "Iron Man because then I could iron out the whole city and smooth it down" and then he runs around pretending to iron the walls!! Can you tell he's never actually seen Iron Man?! I'm thinking David needs to give him some superhero lessons... or maybe not and we can just let him believe that Iron Man irons the families clothes!

And some more photos!

Watching the snow fall earlier this week. Hoping it would be enough to sled in! It wasn't but that didn't stop them trying.

Doing a snow dance!

More dancing (Eli in his long johns!)

Imogen tonight. This is the first time ever she has not let me take her photo! She covered her eyes and then said to me "I'm really mad"

Lil' monkey!

Before Eli went to bed he was busy making things and posting signs all around the house. Apparently we are having a race first thing in the morning when we wake up. He said "you will have to try hard to wake up fast mum because after you have had your breakfast and your tea is when the race is starting, if you take longer than that the race will be finished and you will lose". I'm ok with losing! Here are his signs. I love his writing and that he is sounding words out to write them.

Yes you can stop here

The big big race (they are s's but backwards)

no stop
Results of the race to come tomorrow ;-)

A walk in the woods with Sir Eli the Knight

Last night we had a dusting of snow and it was almost gone by 10am much to Eli's disappointment. He is desperate for there to be enough snow to go sledding. Anyway David suggested a walk along the trail right by our house to try and appease him. It's such a lovely little walk through the woods and then down onto a boardwalk across the marsh. The path starts 2 houses down from us - it's so ridiculously close to our house but we have probably only walked it less than 10 times maybe in the 4 years that we have lived here yet whenever we do we say we should do this more often!  Oh, and Eli went as a knight! Be sure to read the comment under the third to last picture!

His scary face!

Imogen onl walked for about 10 minutes and then got in the stroller and went to sleep! Poor thing still feels rough.

The knight and the princess stop for a quick hug!

Chopping down the trees along the way!

Imogen off on her own!

What a beautiful boy! I'm finally getting some pictures of him looking at me and smiling instead of his usual look off into the distance.

My lil' munchkin almost asleep.

Eli asked if this was the bulrush that Moses was in and was he still there?!
