This and that...

Last weekend we went to see Despicable Me 2 with our friends. Eli is the only child in the world who has to be dragged to see a movie. He acts like its torture, not fun. Despite this he spent most of the movie laughing his head off and Imogen has been imitating the minions all week so it was definitely a hit!

It has been hot hot hot the last week. We have mostly stayed indoors! This was a trip to mastermind toys where I couldn't get them away from the kiddie water table!

Sitting outside eating freezies with odd shoes on!!
Our neighbor has a really fun sprinkler ball- like a beach ball with water shooting out of it. You can throw it around and everyone gets soaked! Lots of fun! After a while they grabbed their umbrellas to play with and then later just started filling up buckets and dumping it over each others heads. I may have joined in for a water fight later on... It was waaaaay too hot!
Got this cute short all in one thing ages ago but she refuses to wear it. I bribed her with it yesterday lol!
Having a sleep over in immys room!!
And that's our week so far! Loving summer holidays :-)

My two superheroes

Don't you remember the episode where batman can't save lives without his pretty red purse?!

And poor spidey is growing out of his costume!! It was bought for him by some friends when he was 2 and I can remember thinking he would never be big  enough to fit it!!

Prince Alarming

Ok turn your computer screens upside for this short video as I have no idea how to fix it!! (video is upside down!) *update - It played the right way on my computer so hopefully it will for you too*

Eli has just done a week drama camp at a performing arts school near us. They spent the week working on a production called Not so Grim Fairytales. He was cast as 'Prince Alarming'. To say he loved it is an understatement.  He is already talking about how he 'HAS' to do Aladdin with them in the fall!

Immy and mama time

Eli is at drama camp this week so Immy and I have been spending some time together. Today after we got some jobs done we went to the mall for lunch. She enjoyed her 'coffee' (hot chocolate) and time with just mama very much!!

More photos by Immy

Here's the latest series that I found on my phone courtesy of Immy...

Oh she cracks me up!

Below is Eli in our friends back yard! He asked me to take his picture in this spot as it was so beautiful! He loves having his photo taken!

Some photos from last weekend on Canada day.

Our neighbours just got a puppy. It's called Jessie and the kids love her so much!

And lastly fun in Ikea ;-)

7 Years!

Seven years ago today I was laying in bed in hospital (ironically with a rash on my face from an allergic reaction to the anaesthetic, exactly like the rash that I have all over my face today!) cradling my beautiful new baby boy. How did 7 years pass so fast! Today we have spent the day at home - Eli's choice - as he wanted to build all his new lego! He had soccer first thing this morning but has literally spent the entire rest of the day putting together all his batman lego.
David and Immy snuck out and went to get a cake - Dairy Queen chocolate extreme blizzard cake - Eli's favourite blizzard flavour (he may just have picked that up from his mama lol...a boy after my own [chocolate] heart!)

Last night he asked if I would take his last picture as a six year old! Apparently this sign means last day being six?!!

And here he is this morning opening presents.

Opened presents, made some lego, got ready for soccer and went outside to try out his scooter from the Lammies, went to soccer then came home and spent all day making Lego until dinner and cake time!

Happy Birthday Beautiful Boy,

Love you to the moon and back.

Summer swimming

Eli and Immy had their last day of swim classes today. They have swam every day for the past two weeks. The lessons were in the teachers outdoor backyard pool which was super nice for the first 4 days when the sun was out but not so fun this week when it was raining every day! Imogen finally passed sea otter after doing it three times! AndEli completed everything in level 7 except his distance swim so he should pass next time! His teacher said she has never had anyone as young as him in that level before so he was pretty happy with that! Here they are with their teacher (she bent down to be on their level and they both got down too! Silly goofs!)
