Eli's performance

A new baby :-)

So Saturday Feb 5th - Helen and I exchanged about 3000 texts. "I might be in labour" "no I don't think I am" "Yes I think I am" and so on and on.... all day! We were debating going over to Vancouver early Saturday morning so that we could help with Zach if she had to go to the hospital but then we decided collectively that it probably wouldn't happen that day so we decided not to go. Roll on 7:30pm and another text and conversation where she thinks it could happen tonight...or maybe not lol!! For whatever reason I suddenly decided we should go over just incase. The last ferry was 9pm and the kids were already sleeping in bed so we quickly packed up and carried the kids to the car. Eli didn't flinch...

until we were 5 minutes away from Helen and Buu's at 11:30 ish and then he was up till about 2am! 

Imogen on the other hand was wide awake the minute I moved her into the car and had me running around on the ferry like a loon while David sat in the car with a sleeping Eli!

We got to Helen and Buu's sometime just before midnight and it turned out we had made the right decision to go over as they left for the hospital immediately and baby Benjamin Robert Lam was born at 5:30am. We had breakfast and then took Zach to meet his little brother and then went on to pick mum up from the aiport. I am sooo pleased we made the choice to go over and that we could help them and of course that I got to meet my newest little nephew!

A cold day out in Parksville

Eli has been begging me to take them to Parksville park/beach for months and we never seem to have time  so last week on a reasonably sunny but FREEEEEEEZING cold day we spent the afternoon at the park and beach. It was the first time that I had to drag Imogen away from a park kicking and screaming! She loved it.

This was Eli's favorite when he was Imogens age. I was thinking I would find a photo of him on here at that age but oh wait, we lost all our photos from the last 6 years :(

Valentines party

First chapter book!

He says "my name is Eli, I'm 4 yrs old and this is my first chapter book!!

It was just a short one to introduce him to the idea of reading a few chapters each night. I wasn't sure if he would be interested if it didn't have pictures but he really enjoyed it so on to some longer ones. I'm desperate to read 'the magic faraway tree' to him! I loved that book - such good memories!

Princess pirates!!

The two of them were running around like this yesterday afternoon - eli told me they were playing princess pirates which I thought was adorable! Although by the looks of it Imogen is the princess pirate in the hood!!

Pirates

A few weeks ago Eli and I made some pirate stick puppets. He has had so much fun making up stories for them (or more often than not copying the one I just did word for word!) Then yesterday we were at Micheals and found these puppet theatres on sale from $8 to .69c...bargain! Perfect size for his little pirates. He was so excited. He coloured it in and then spent the next half hour making up stories. Next he has asked for astronaut puppets! We usually do stuff like this while Imogen is having her nap. He told me the other week that he loves it most when she is asleep and it's just me and him!
