Darwin the class monkey

Some pics of the past week...

When Immy chooses her own outfits!
I try so hard to just let her wear what she picks but it kills me haha! Lately she's all about creating her own outfits so I just have to go with it!
Her explanation for this one...the black heart t-shirt matches the red long sleeve heart t-shirt because they are all hearts. The leggings match the black t-shirt because they have lots of colours in them like the heart on the t-shirt. Not sure about the orange leg warmers we didn't get that far lol!

Immy loves drawing. She's getting so detailed lately!

Eli working on 3d drawings

Last week Immy brought their class monkey home - Darwin (Helen and I re-named him Moses lol) She had to write a journal about what they did all week so he came everywhere with us! I was a bit grossed out by her cuddling and sleeping with him since he has been around half the class ewwwww.

Telling her class about her week with Darwin. (there are about 20 people in her class you just can't see them all!)

Earlier in the week it was snowing and still reasonably warm (-5) so i surprised them at bedtime with a night time walk in the snow to look at all the lights in our neighbourhood.

Catching snowflakes in their mouths!

Yesterday we had a poetry tea party! We used to do it a lot but haven't done it since we moved. They were so excited to have one for lunch :-) Eli wrote a few poems and I read some, Immy made up her own poetry jokes - which were interesting lol!

This and that...

My goofballs! No idea what they were doing!

Before snow! We rode bikes down to 7-eleven! (otherwise known as I bribed them to go for a super long bike ride by saying they could have a slurpee!)

Playing star wars out on the trampoline as princess Leia

I took this because it was freezing cold outside and I was wearing layers upon layers but these two were half naked!

Aunty Wendy came to visit :-)

We took her to the Rockies

Eli had just read a book about Nellie McClung - one of the leaders in helping women get the vote in Canada - and we were downtown Calgary with Wendy and saw this statue of her. He was so excited that he knew who she was!

Halloween costumes!

Saying bye to Aunty Wendy

I was so sick for a few days. I literally slept for 3 days straight. When I finally stayed awake long enough to venture into the kitchen I saw this! Guess Immy was busy colouring while I was sleeping! The table was covered!

Ready to bake!

Eli got a knitting loom! He's been busy making scarves!

Immy and I - who else?!

The 'stage' in our unfinished basement!

Sun rise one morning last week

Superman playing violin!

At the science centre last week making clothes!

Jimmy's finished creations (Eli got bored after pinning on piece of fabric on!)

Playing brides!
